Online Degrees Gain Favor
Online credentials are being generally accepted by employers as they are
being forced to broaden their views because more people are earning degrees
over the Internet. One nationwide survey estimates that 61% of employers find
online degrees up to standard, but not as credible as traditional degrees.
The question was posed to 239 employers of all sizes about their viewpoints
and observations toward online degrees. In spite of the feelings of some,
26% of employers find online bachelor's degrees as credible as offline ones.
Only 13% say online degrees are entirely objectionable. Fascinatingly, employers
seem more open-minded of online graduate degrees, with 37% saying they are
as reliable and credible as traditional graduate degrees.
